Hotel Haven - Delta Hotels by Marriott Toronto

Back in the early spring I enjoyed a one night getaway to Toronto. I love that such a vibrant big city is only about an hour drive from where I live. I had been wanting to check out Ripley's Aquarium of Canada and maybe do a bit of shopping. So my hotel of choice was the Delta by Marriott in Downtown Toronto. It was classy, comfortable and spacious and located near some of near the best attractions in one of Canada's great cities. Especially convenient is the Roger's Centre to catch the Toronto Blue Jays in action, or the Air Canada Centre for the Raptors, Leafs or a concert. For my Friday evening, I strolled about 3 minutes over to Ripley's Aquarium and had a delightful time exploring this gem of an attraction. There were fewer crowds and the displays were wonderful and enchanting, especially the Jelly Fish exhibit. Back at the hotel, for an evening drink or two I headed to the onsite Char No. 5 whiskey bar. Beautifully set up with knowledgeable and friendly bar staff, this cool place features over 60 types of whiskey. I expanded my horizons and enjoyed a nice cocktail called the Paper Plane. Also enjoyed a great award winning Mac & Cheese from the Soco Kitchen & Bar, also at the hotel, and conveniently delivered to the Char 5 bar. After a while the place was really buzzing, great vibe for a hotel bar. Back in the room, enjoyed relaxing both upon arrival and to wind down the evening in a modern comfortable room with pleasant decor and a great view of the city. Definitely on my list to stay here again (several times!) in the future..
